And what context would that be? Hm? That he blames taking prayer away from school is why school shooting occur? You people seriously need to read more history books... and no, I'm not talking about the Bible. -with love from an Agnostic
You know, connect the dots for your little peabrain to comprehend what's being said since you cannot be bothered to even ATTEMPT to understand where he's coming from?
See, people like you (And I include atheists, agnostics and the faithful all in this proclamation), are endemic of what's wrong in civilized society. You people who make no attempt to understand the other side. Walk a mile in 'the other guys' shoes.
What he means is that when you withdraw morality from school and culture, when you start replacing it with nihilism and the notion that there is no such thing as good and evil, then you are inviting disaster.
Is he correct? In all fairness, that's debatable, but doubtful.
Does he mean to institute theocratic policies in schools? Also, in point of fact, doubtful.
But still, you couldn't be bothered to try and understand.
Aw, cute with those personal insults, you know studies show that people throw those around when they feel lost and insecure of their own position? Oh, right... religious... you wouldn't bother with science and reality, my bad! Anyway, I can understand his position, it's called "being ignorant" and there really isn't more to it. This guy really TRULY believe that school shootings happen because God isn't allowed in School? The very notion that you can think like this just means that there is something fundamentally wrong inside your rotten piece of shit that was once a brain.
yes, people like me... the truth seekers, the scientists, the free thinkers... what about us? Oh, we who push forward the technological advancement of the human race is the problem? And not the cavemen that wants to live in the dark ages like you? I see... yes! we're very bad! BAD I SAY! Such evil people we're! EVIL!!!
Walk the other side? You mean the road of stupidity and ignorance? No thanks, I like being enlighten.
So... praying to a sky daddy that wants to throw your sorry ass into the pits of eternal fire if you eat shrimp is moral? Okay... *laughs*
Nihilism don't hurt anyone, child. It's the most logical position, which is why so few people are Nihilists, people in this world (especially Theists) doesn't like logic.
Why is there being no "good and evil" a disaster? please explain this to me, it's not the philosophers that bring harm to this world, it's the people like you. We would all live in a better world with rational thinking over emotional thinking. But you wouldn't be able to understand that, maybe when you grow up, develop a brain and toss the religious bullshit, then you too might have a change.
He and you believe in angles? Obviously he and you are very "doubtful".
He wants his shitty religion empowered, that is what he and all the other extremist Christians wants, you too, probably.
I've bothered and it turned out he was an idiot, now I'm simply moving on. -with love from an Agnostic
You have no grounding to say that name-calling is uncalled for when you're as guilty. But to show you how it's done, I'll refrain from names.
Why, I'll even refrain from commenting on your atrocious spelling and grammar that you hammer out while hypocritically lecturing me that I am the moron.
Appropriate titles though, such as bigot, notwithstanding. And yes, you are ignorant.
Now, on to the fisking of your erroneous diatribes. 'Why is there being no "good and evil" a disaster? please explain this to me, it's not the philosophers that bring harm to this world, it's the people like you. We would all live in a better world with rational thinking over emotional thinking. But you wouldn't be able to understand that, maybe when you grow up, develop a brain and toss the religious bullshit, then you too might have a change.'
I contend that such irresponsible philosophers that teach that certain acts, such as rape, murder, theft and are not evil and acts such as charity, common decency, altruism and even the hugs shared between loved ones and friends are good undermine the moral codes that are the foundation of a stable society do in fact, cause harm.
What good is a compass that doesn't point North and has no frames of reference? What good then, by the same token, is a moral compass that has no indication of right or wrong?
You contend that anyone who believes in God causes disaster, ignorant, like you have frequently demonstrated, to both the acts of religious men and women's contributions to scientific progress and to the acts of genocidal atheists throughout history who stood on scientific principle that their monstrous acts were for the amorphously defined 'greater good'.
'yes, people like me... the truth seekers, the scientists, the free thinkers... what about us? Oh, we who push forward the technological advancement of the human race is the problem? And not the cavemen that wants to live in the dark ages like you? I see... yes! we're very bad! BAD I SAY! Such evil people we're! EVIL!!!'
Erroneous assumptions will get you nowhere, Fisk. And this may be news to you, but you will never convince people of your side of things by acting like a spazz and throwing what equates to a sarcasm tantrum.
'Walk the other side? You mean the road of stupidity and ignorance? No thanks, I like being enlighten.'
So you are ignorant of the other side's perspective, Fisk. You have made no attempt to understand where your philosophical opponents are coming from. You are also unreasonable, expecting someone else to walk not a mile in your shoes, but their entire life in your shoes, without the courtesy and actual enlightened ideal of doing the same for them.
'So... praying to a sky daddy that wants to throw your sorry ass into the pits of eternal fire if you eat shrimp is moral? Okay... *laughs*'
You cite the Atheist's favorite book in the Bible, Leviticus, which is frequently used, divorced of context, to reinforce the myth of universal Christian bigotry. Christians who happen to believe the literal meaning of Leviticus, I contend, yes, are indeed fools. And prayer, unlike your coming insistence regarding nihilism, is in fact harmless. If for nothing else, than for focus, meditation and mental discipline.
'Nihilism don't hurt anyone, child. It's the most logical position, which is why so few people are Nihilists, people in this world (especially Theists) doesn't like logic.'
I know I said I wouldn't make fun of your grammar, but for pity sake that was hard to read... And Nihilism ties back into my assertion regarding the validity of having a solid moral compass in life. If you are convinced life is meaningless, then you are a fool. The truth is that there is no 'one size fits all' meaning of life. Life finds its own meaning and its own purpose. This goes for human life and otherwise. Show me a Nihilist and I'll show you a man who hasn't found his calling.
'He and you believe in angles? Obviously he and you are very "doubtful".'
Um... I'm going to assume you meant to say 'Angels'. If this is incorrect, I'll address both potential wordings. If you meant 'Angels', then I would argue that a belief in angels is not limited to Christians. As an agnostic, surely there have been events in your life, odd coincidences that you cannot immediately explain. Angels are a way of addressing the inexplicable things that happen in life. The things that God (Or the unknowable higher power, to respect your agnosticism) use to work their influence on the world. Agents, if you will. So really, angels, as a dual-encompassing term, is not exclusive to Christians.
'He wants his shitty religion empowered, that is what he and all the other extremist Christians wants, you too, probably.'
Perhaps he does. Perhaps he doesn't. Perhaps it's not empowerment, but restored equality he wants. If that is the case, then he and I are of like mind. If empowerment, then he and I are not of like mind. I want balance. Seeking truth and knowledge with science in hand and God in heart. I do not however, want one extreme over the other. You're all yang and no yin. And theocracy is all yin and no yang. Both are, as I have pointed out, not mutually exclusive. What I cannot stand however, are bigots like you and Fred Phelps. Two extremes of the same coin. One, an extreme secularist. The other, an extreme theist. I do not hold to either extreme.
'I've bothered and it turned out he was an idiot, now I'm simply moving on.'
You are a liar. You have just already said, and I quote, 'Walk the other side? You mean the road of stupidity and ignorance? No thanks, I like being enlighten.'. So no, you did not bother.
*reads comments* oh, you started it ^_^ so... fuck you, you little lying piece of shit?
We're all ignorant, just like you don't know if God is real or not (at least I don't claim to know where you claim certainty). And your point is?
*sigh* stupid, stupid, stupid. I don't rape because I don't want to get raped, it's a little something called "actions and consequences". I know you're too ignorant to understand this concept, but do try to enlighten yourself a little. BTW remind me again why you're a "good" person? Because of heavenly rewards when you die? What a loathsome piece of shit you are, hallelujah!
Don't say that, people add me to their watch list because I mock religion, so what you're saying is just 120% wrong.
Hey, you're the one who started this, so STFU? :3
I don't understand how you can say that, this is the God you believe in... it may be the old testament but it's the same guy that you worship, this despicable monster that you call father... Prayer? Why are we talking about prayers now? I honestly have a lot to say about prayers, but I'll let this quote speak for me (see below), because I honestly find you to be a waste of time and it's only because I'm bored that I even bother with this. "Two hands working can do more than a thousand clasped in prayer." May not be harmful (well, being passive can be VERY harmful: "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."), but it isn't very productive either. "give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime. give a man religion and he will die praying for a fish."
Again with the personal insults, how Christian of you. "love thy neighbor"? Laughable. No, you're the fool, you believe in a magical being that there exist no evidence of existing, and you call me a fool for realizing the true depths of reality? Wow... you are one sad little man... I pity you :/ did someone hurt you since you act like this? Did an Atheist touch you as a child or something? You sound really traumatized... even though you're a complete tool, I'll see give you a hug, you need it more than I do!
No, I meant your father, you know... that spooky incompetent guy in heaven? the one who thinks rape is good and just? Nope, I've never been so drugged out that I saw fantasy creatures, you have I can hear by things... drugs are bad, mkay?
"restore equality" ahhhh, there it was, yup, there is no denying it now, you're a fucking idiot. Forced prayer in school is the complete opposite of "equality". You seek truth? Please, you're talking to a Positivist here and I can tell you that you're far from anything that resemble truth. Maybe you should skip the fairy tales and try over? Clearly you have failed on your quest for truth. Ah! I was almost missing the name calling, but there it is again! Loved child has many names, oui? Also, you try to master 4 languages while having Dyslexia, your feats are far from as impressive as the things I've completed with my many conditions. You bring nothing but shame to the human race. -with love from an Agnostic
